About
Spacetherapy is led by Naomi Porter who draws on more than 25 years of experience in interior design, architecture, and recently working in collaboration with her husband and his landscape practice, Gustafson Porter.
Her team comprises design professionals whose unique mix draws on a varied cultural experience and professional discipline. We enjoy the artisan and artistic approach to design often using this as a clue for contemporary reinterpretation of historic themes. Art, commerce and technology combine to deliver design of the highest order.
We approach every project with a keen awareness that we must consider all the complex elements that contribute to a solution.
The surrounding space of a project is integral to understanding how it can evolve. Designs emerge from characteristics of site and building as well as from local culture, ambiance, climate, history, social and environmental contexts..
Our clients, their needs and desires reflect where they find themselves; we aim to design spaces that will bring a successful and harmonious interaction. The aspiration is to express a concept subtly, offering exciting possibilities, but without imposing.
Spacetherapy is concerned with all the spaces we use so our work is unique, creative and bespoke responding to each project to find better ways of solving problems.
We strive to understand the end user - the world they live in, their needs and aspirations. An essential part of developing and delivering pragmatic and enriching solutions is to encourage a free exchange of ideas with our clients.
We use all available sources to help us anticipate the future, to push boundaries and to challenge the status quo. We pursue state of the art knowledge about people, culture and society, technology and environment but especially how this might be applied creatively.
We know how to assess ambiguity understanding that intangible qualities can be harnessed and expressed through design to create a tangible essence of a place and its culture. We make rich aesthetic experiences appealing to all of our senses.
Design is a powerful tool that, with ethical understanding, makes a positive difference to people's lives, so important today as we encompass many issues financial, cultural, and environmental. Our work aims to stand the test of time by being human centred because it impacts on every aspect of our lives.
